- Can you take directions from others or do you prefer to ‘go it alone’?
- Are you open to taking advice and support, especially if it doesn’t reflect your own views or opinions?
- Have you discussed your plans with your family? Do they understand the impact self-employment will have on their lives?
- Can you multi-task and maintain focus on different jobs at the same time?
- Are you an optimist or a pessimist? Do you have a positive mindset, drive, determination and perseverance?
- Do you accept that a franchise is not a guarantee of success?
Be honest with yourself
Not many of us combine single-minded commitment and determination with open-mindedness and an ability to work within a set of rules.
Be scrupulously honest with yourself at this stage of your research. Try to detach emotion so you can be as objective as possible.
